How are you going to get rid of that one?

By "marbled cat" you mean your old White Spotted Bamboo correct? Also even the pond at that LFS will not even come close to housing a Spotted Wobbie. Why do you keep buying Sharks you know you wont be able to keep for its full life time. Not very responsible on your behalf.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but don't say that I am not very responsible unless you know what you are talking about. The shark will be fine.

When he gets big enough, he will probably go to the same place the Marbled Cat went to .

I have to agree with Brenden. That shark reaches 10 feet in length. That pond is nowhere near big enough.

Goodwin - Its not that I am trying to put you down or critcize your choices. However did you even know the species of Wobbygong before you made the purchase? Spotteds are known to grow to/around 10' you cannot tell me that the small pool at your LFS can hold a 10' Shark. And please do not go down the road saying you know a Public Aquarium that is willing to take it. When it comes down to it, its all about making the right choices. Sure its tempting to buy a Shark to house for a few years but you really need to think long term when making such purchases.

I'll second that.

To put another way - if you can keep a 3' long Bamboo shark in a 7-9' diameter pond. Then a 10' Spotted Wobbie would need a pool/lagoon that is at least about 24-30' in diameter.

Which is most LFS - don't have room for a pond that large. IMO - Spotted Wobbies, are like Nurse Sharks - they generally belong only in the hands of professional aquariums.

The fact is the White-spotted (Marbled) Bamboo was a far better choice for a pet shark - than the Spotted Wobbie is.

I purchased the shark from a wholesaler as an Australian Wobbegong 8~10" in length. I believe that there are a number of variations that come from that area. I don't know how fast this particular shark will grow, but I know where his next home is. From there, it is up in the air. I'm pretty conifdent the shark will be taken care of properly.

You don't know how fast the shark grows, but you bought it anyway? You also bought a shark with a name that isn't even a speices.
Just out of curiousity, where did the other shark go?
