yeah - it may be just 10-10.5" today - but in a few years(ok maybe a decade) - it will likely be 10-10.5 feet.

its like beating a dead horse.
and he said he already found him a new home..
I dont see whats the big deal is if he already KNOWS that he has a home.
He didnt say "well, ill give it to one of the local aquariums" he said.... that it had a future home to go to...

Well -- it's always good to plan ahead.

But still - the point is - it also is good to know what species your getting - before you get it. Instead of getting a shark first - then ask what species is - and attempt to plan for it's future home.

And I personally wouldn't consider it "beating a dead horse" - if it help other people from making a similar mistake.

Hmmmm..that's more than 3" a month in growth. I'll keep the tape handy and post pictures monthly to document its growth.
