Shark Week 2011 Discussion thread.

Shark week is getting pathetic. My favorite one is Sharkman and that's from 2007. They need to reconsider their format and show material.
 
i enjoy shark week but i wish they get some new footage. its always the same stuff they show for the past few years. So far i have not seen anything new. i seen the same stuff 2+ years ago. :(
 
honestly... nat geo wild has been playing a lot of shark shows and IMO they are way better than whats on shark week.
 
I will have to catch it online cause I have basic cable where I am at. I have heard this year by far has been the worse for shark attacks.

I have been much happier watching nat geo wild than shark week as well. I quote my sister and her college friends who say Shark week now is basically: "Lets have a drink every time a shark jumps out of the water!"

LOL my friends play a similar game.. Except they take 3 shots for everytime the word "shark"is said, 2 shots for when an Australian guy talks and 2 shots whenever you see a shark. Its a fun game.
 
I agree that Shark Week - has way too many stories about Shark Attack victims, and not enough about actual education of sharks as natural predators. And when they do take about sharks as natural predators - it's usually the only big three - The Great White, The Tiger, and the Bull. Also there's virtually no stories about shark conservation.

The truth is National Geographic Channel, and Animal Planet tend to have better shark programing than you find on Shark Week.
