okay, ha im not a chemicals junky, i would rather not add anything at all but occasionally i do.....i just talked to the guy that i have bought and learned almost everything from. This guy is a genius. i drove out to talk to him about it today and then he laughed and told me it was okay...about a month ago he told me my arowana was at a good age to start feeding him earth worms (Not the best diet for arowana)....now, that's his main diet, and if he doesn't eat them all the ray will grab them off the bottom....something in the worms changed the chemical waste output and slightly raises ammonia (Lots of us feed primarily earthworm and have no amm spikes. I've never heard the term "Chemical waste output" - can you define that for me.) ....a small amount at a time, like .10ppm-.25ppm every week, but it didn't jump up or down enough for me to really concern myself about it. (If your chemistry is junping THAT much from feeding, there are more issues going on here. Again, that is why I asked for numbers, and not just listen to "They are ok, trust me".) he gave me something to break it down and assured me it wasn't electrical, ph, or anything else (Without seeing the tank, he can assure you all he likes, but it's not right) .....so i just did my first of a 4 day treatment, we'll see how that goes (How can you treat something you aren't sure is the problem? Will most likely add to the problems you are already seeing.)
