sheading rays

well obviously everything is not "ok" if your ray is shedding its slime coat ;)


how about you answer the mans questions so maybe we can help you better... cause everything is not "OK"

Slime coat peeling off could be a cause of a few issues that is why there is no direct black and white answer and we need as many facts as we can get to help you. Also do you try to adjust your ph in your tank or leave it as is out of your tap?
 
no i use water softners and test it before i had it to the tank. if there is a signifigant different i will ajust before adding any water to the tank.

Stop messing with your damn water and your rays will be fine...

Could be the problem there. Rays will do fine in a high ph tank.
 
how new is it? My new marble does it alot as well I think its prolly because it is still trying to get use to it... I prazied just to be safe

yup... leave your water alone what ever it is out of the tap just use that....
 
sodenoshirayuki - yea leave the water alone...comes out of the tap at about 6.5...i have a high and a low range ph test and its off the chart low....I think not. and you forgot to high light in red "if" and "signifigant difference". there is absolutly nothing wrong with testing and adjusting water levels rather then just throwing in buckets of water.

turkeyboy85 - hes fairly new to the tank, just less then two months..... otherwise hes eatin healthy and often, actively moving, no different then from any other ray i have had in the past. this one however was a gift fro my gf. she got him from a shop i know well, other then that i know nothing of his history, previous owners, ect.
