What tanks mates does the ray have

Sounds like slime coat coming off.

if its filling the tank then its a lot of slime and there must be a reason for the ray to keep doing this:confused:
x2, but what could it be? Stress? Bad water? Tankmates?

If you have sand in the tank, its probably the sand sticking to the slimecoat and appearing to come off. There is no such thing (as far as I know) as rays shedding. What kind of ray is it?

Yeah but under normal conditions a healthy ray would not produce that much slime.

I'm gonna say there is somethig wrong.
Electrical current? Maybe. We don't feel like like a ray would. And it might only effect them due to how sensative they are.
Water chemsitry? Maybe. What is being tested for? And by what methods?

A healthy ray should't be having such an issue with it's skin/slime coat.

i have sand in with some of my rays and the sand sticks to them and when they flick it off there is no slime with it, only once have i seen slime on one of my Leo's at that was when she was only a few months old and managed to jump out of the tank and was on the carpet for a few min's, when i put her back in for the next few days she looked slimey but never again, there is deffinatly somthing a miss here. can you post some pic's of the ray and the tank and filtration please?

okey here's some pics, hes doing it again.

the water is fine i check the PH, GH, KH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate,

and if its some sorta electrical current, i mean what am i supposed to do. take one piece away at a time untill he stops....its all brad new equiement-everything the heaters, lights, UV protector, both pumps, ect.

current other fish are arowana, alagator gar, bichir, ray.... parrot fish, jack dempsey keep to themselves..The ray has the bottom of the tank, the arowana the middle, the gar has the top.....it works very well, everyones says out of everyones territories, eating grounds, nest, ect

Ive checked into all this stuff, thats why im asking you guys. he is getting old but i cant see that having anything to do with it.....
