Slime Coat....

If it is electrical then YES take everything out one by one and eliminate until the condition dissapears. Just because its new doesnt mean its working properly.

add 1 pound of salt per 100gallons... and what are your water params and what test kit you using?

What are your chemistry numbers? Sometimes what people understand as "Ok" or "Good" really aren't.
With what the pics show, I would lean towards something in the water causing stress like crazy.... whether it's chemsitry or electrical current.

1 lbs/ 100 g....really that seems pretty strong. what kinda salt, not sea salt?

Test kits are Nutrafin

no not sea salt.... morton kosher salt and form of pure salt if you wanna waste your money use aquarium salt...

Anybody know if low ph would cause this?

im currently having same problem an my ph is 7.6 ..

the Jack dempsey-hes a coward, the parrot fish own him, no threat, my ray has cought him a few time and lets him go but scares him pretty good.

and the sea salt-well it wouldnt be a waste of money, i have a salt water tank aswell-it was more of a disbelief then anything....

as for my chemisrty numbers zoodiver-thx but there fine. im not going to list them off to assure you that i know what i think "ok" is....I didnt just go out and spent 10 grand on my fisrt setup. i had two different shops test my water for everythng and the results were the same that my test we producing

Doesnt really seem like anyone is to sure themselves, ill post his progress....

aquarium salt is not sea salt... and sea salt is not good for rays cause of all the added extras....
