Did it say that? I would just assume someone was backwashing a filter, then refilling during open hours.
 
I've been there a couple times, awesome set-up. They've got HUGE arapaima there too.

Supposedly they've had lots of success with breeding those rays.

thats pretty ba the georgia aquarium has some arowana and pircaracu but no rays i have seen.

Yep, I will tell you flat out, they are one of the best collections or FW ras out there. I was always stuggling to match them when I worked at Dallas World.

It did not say how often, but there was a sign that said the level raises and lowers with the rainy season.
