Thanks for the kind words... The tank was down for a water change. It is easier to get in and clean once a week than to try to clean with a sponge on a pole! The exhibit does try to show a walk through a year so that some exhibits show low water season and some show the flooding season, but not the same exhibit on the same day!

Because it often spooks the fish. Imagine how many visitors with flashes that the animals would be subjected to. Also, pics come out better without the flash anyway- doesn't bounce off the acrylic. Our exhibits are well lit so a flash really isn't necessary.
Yeah, the Amazon exhibit is unreal at the Shedd. The pictures, while great, give no justice to the real thing. Those rays are HUGE!! The Shedd also offers everyone their fix of Scleropages Formosa (asian aro).
