If you quit, just put the amount of money you spend on cigarettes in a week towards sealant and stuff for the tank. Or you can get a 180 gallon tank with everything and have money to spare for decorating and fish.

This doesn't mean much. I didn't doubt your skills or knowlege, or ability to do so. Your thread suggested you are about 16 years old , and unmotivated, thats what i based my opinion off. You coujld get a huge tank for that money. Or build one and spend a lot of cash and have a donation for the viewing acrylic from your dad. I would have quit smoking from the conversation.

thats a great thought industrial ha! just another reason to start pricing materials lol... my mind was made up from the start it just hasent happend yet. Thankyou all for suggestions about other things but the piece of glass is what the money is being spent on!!! Its the only way to house my friends right

"The Canuck" you have your own opinion I respect that but I feel like your basing it on really flimsy information its his decision and if he chooses to follow through i don't think he has any less chance than most of the DIY guys

He posted to find out what people thought about it. I and most other monster fish lovers would have jumped all over that.
Those two things are very good things that pointed out that it may be better for this person to get a pre built tank. Also that motivation may be lacking.
He said hes going to build it so its whatever. My opinions where very well backed up with the little misleading information he gave.

man sorry 2 be a downer for you guys. i thought this was the place we came to not get criticized for being crazy about fish? i may only be 23 but im not sixteen and that doesn't even matter. I own my house so thats not an issue. Dont get down on peoples dreams just because you can't think outside the box. So many people have already paved the way for projects like this i cant even name them all.
You gotta have a thick skin around here sometimes. Don't let people get you down ultimately its your choice and if you choose to build a massive tank or store bought there are tons of people here to help you out and or share your interest.
