Do we have any members amongst us that are keeping a shoal of geryi? I found lots of suggestions in previous posts/threads but not any actual keepers of the amazing voilet line piranha. Some of you have been around awhile. Seen any?

Plum had a shoal but I think he just sold it recently. not sure who else tho..

:( That's sad, losing all 7 like that. He ever mention how big of a tank that was?

yeah I know. I'm sure he was pretty bummed. I don't know how big the tank was, but you could probably find out on pfury...or just ask him. I think he's a mod there. Smart guy too. Knows a whooooole lot about P's. I think he's kept them all...

Yes sadly, I just sold mine.

What are you looking to know?

Is there any need to know information that's different then other Ps before attempting to keep them? There doesn't seem to be the same wealth of information on them (especially shoaling them).

I know a large tank would be essential. What's their growth rate?

from what I understand.

Supposedly Geryi's and Macs are the easiest serras to shoal. They need for gallons per fish than pygos, and it's always a crap shoot. The fish are so expensive it's a crap shoot. The biggest Geryi I've seen (with me own eyes) was about 9" $500 bucks.

my dream tank would be a shoal of 5-6 geyri, Seem like they never are available though
