A quick update. The fry are still growing like weeds and the father is still doing a great job (female had to be removed as she was chasing the fry about sometimes). I will soon return him to the pond to be reunited with both his previous mates. I wonder which he will pair up with? I was expecting some natural die off and bigger fry killing off the smaller weaker ones by now but I don’t see any reduction in numbers . Even with the father gone it will get pretty cramped in there soon. Fortunately I’m moving house so they will be going into a bigger tank to grow on before going into the pond. I’m not sure if they will be short bodied like their parents. They look like normal fry to me. The one pink fry from my pair of short body pinks does look more squished. Time will tell.
