i'm going with alligator gar on this one...the snout looks a little too short to be a tropical. It's atractosteus for sure though.
 
would juvinile gators be housed together? because this guy came from a tank with about 10 others in there

too true. i really don't think anyone is ever going to be lucky enough to get an lfs misID and get a trop at the price of a gator.

i'm unsure of how they are priced outside of the US, but that did seem very cheap!

you can take one, but i feel pretty confident that it's a stressed out gator.
