Nobody that I know thinks he will go quietly , but contrary to all the "legal experts", who are of course rooting for Sterling to go all APE-@#$$(so they can talk on tv ) how are you gonna MAKE the NBA let him run the team...after a lifetime ban....can ANYBODY find ONE SINGLE TIME...IN ALL OF HISTORY...that a court ruled against a major sports leagues lifetime ban?

Not a court, but I think the league itself has retracted or lifted VERY VERY FEW lifetime bans.
Here is an interesting article i found though

Does that article say anything we haven't already said? We've discusses many of the owners that were banned and reinstated (per krich and lp) and numerous people have posted about the banning/attempt to force sale are because of public backlash (sponsors, fans, players) and how it instantly hurt the league. Theres no denying the whole scandal was bad for business.

Im confused at whats news or interesting?

different take on the "you can't ban him because...." theme:popcorn: they ALL keep forgetting ... the owners are a CLUB... not subject to very many laws..btw that guy is flat telling it wrong about "reinstatement", most league rulings allow for it ..BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS..of course "lifetime bans" don't happen very often

If they strike they dont collect $$$ BUT maybe threatening them during the playoffs is enough of a scare

that was the hope(and it seemed to be heeded).. my fear is that during the off season the steam will leave that movement, but I doubt it.. the players aren't going to forget that rant very soon,imo....FYI the players share of playoff money isn't that big , so it kind of lessened their risk , a regular season strike would be WAY more costly for the players

I know you are confused...
It might be news to anyone new to this thread/or not following the news or ESPN like yourself
What is interesting? I haven't polled all 5300 people who have visited this thread...but you would have to ask them? Not really concerned with what interests you...But I do know you like BS.

OH OH! I just thought of something! You are from Oregon...This article is from Oregon! Now that's interesting,

I don't recall someone ever saying that the courts were going to lift/reverse the NBA ban on Donald Sterling. Only that the NBA would not be able to force its ownership out of his family. He is banned, but he and his family still own the clippers. I think that was one of the contentions of this thread.

That steam is what I wonder about. Will it still be there once the excitement of the play offs is over??

Just saying a lot of the views are to see the crazy arguing not about interest in some old racist dude who is still a rich old man whether he lost a team or not

I dont live in portland (where oregonlive covers) and i still dont get your insistent on knowing my viewing schedule nor what it has to do with this thread. Maybe you should let it go cuz you just look like a fool trying to tell other people what i do or dont watch

next time you post some repetitive nonsense we already discussed ill make note youre talking to ghosts who have chosen not to partake in the thread instead of the dozen or so real people that are having a discussion. Good to know really.

What if they go deep into the playoffs this year? Hard to keep that steam going without a reason to respark the public if theyre winning. they were pre season favorites by many to come out of the west

hmm.. Part of me wonders if how they do in the playoffs, will affect their attitudes towards the situation. It shouldn't but...
