Should I add anything?

try maybe a del, sen, or ornate bichir or a catfish..maybe another colorful cichlid?

Right now I am leaning towards adding some pictus cats, convicts, and firemouths. Any recomendations as to how many of each? I read online the pictus need to be kept in a school, so Im thinking maybe four. A nice male and female convice. Two or three firemouths would be nice. Does this sound like too much? I thought about doing a festae, but Im thinking they might be too big to add. Im still open to options ... this is just what Im thinking for now.

Aslo, when looking at my tank ... the right back corner I plan on adding a manzanita wood "root" looking structure hanging from the top. I just cut down a large tree in my front yards and there are a lot of very nice branches I can use, but Im not sure what type of tree it is or how safe it is to add. Ill have to research that. Would it be wise to add some plants to provide some cover for the new additions? There are several large caves in the tank, but I figured adding more cover may help accomodate more fish. I have plenty more rock to build up more caves, but I kind of like the ammount of rock in there now.

Bumped up once for any other comments. Otherwise, I think Im going to add what I wrote just above this. Thanks again for all the great advice and opinions.

Go with a larger bichir. they are the most amazing fish i have kept. Very active compared to what i thought like most bottom dwellers. My large male dovii seems to just cuddle with my 12" ornate and shows no aggression towards it. So i wouldnt think your jaguar wouldnt do too much damage
