Does anyone else think that the tank will hold up? I want to make the seller an offer and im not to worried if it leaks cause I am sure he will take it back if it does. My main concern is if this chip would compromise the strenth of the tank.

It doesn't look like it's chipped. It's more like "crushed" or shattered glass in that corner. If it was me, I would not buy it at all. Unless the angle of the picture taken shows that it is a chipped corner and the inside of the glass attached to the silicone glue is not affected, then it should be OK.

It did not look like the silicone was touched. The front glass panel is the one that is chipped.

How would you repair it? if it is a chip and not shattered, i think it would be OK. That is alot of cash for a glass tank. How much for a new one?

I wouldnt buy it.. Thats a whole lotta water if it ends up breaking... I gave away a 55 b/c of a small chip just like that... I wont take a chance - insurance is expensive!!

Yeah thats a little more than a chip; everytime you hear a sound you'll be checking the tank. Next thing you know you go crazy from lack of sleep because you keep hearing it cracking(even though it's just a car driving by)
