should i breed these koi?

hey guys i have some koi im going to breed once they hit about 12 and half inches or more. and what your opinion is on it. sorry the pictures dont do justice with these fish
i used my phone haha. it's the blue and white and the black and gold

You can't breed them... they are both males.

Koi are also not like other fish.. you can't just stick them in a tank, and expect it to happen. I have kept koi for a few years, and only once have I had a spawn.

Koi mature much different than other fish.

Would I breed them? No. Even if they were breedable. These are low grade "pond" fish. No offense meant, but if you want to breed koi, go for higher quality as the fry will reap the benefits.

He is not going to be able to breed these.

They are BOTH males, and at 12 inches they have not reached sexual maturity.

Once they hit about 20" you have a chance.

If you like them, breed whatever you want. Just remember that high quality will sell quicker.

How were you able to tell the sex of the fish from those pictures? Honest question not trolling.

The shape of the fins. This only applies to standard fin obviously.

pointed fins- male these often have coloring in them.
rounded fins- female these are most often transparent.

You can also tell by body shape. long, torpedo like is male. Rounded tire belly is female.

i have bred koi before. im not a amateur. And the blue one is a female. you cant tell from the picture either, your "quality" koi you seem exactly the same quality as mine.
you cant breed koi at 20inch as the eggs in the female might not take right as they are to old. the proper koi breeding size is 12 inches or more. Bc they have matured at a good age.
all im asking is a opinion not a negative comment. btw your pictures are taking in High definition so yours look cleaner. mine was on a crappy phone.
