Should i buy a crenicichla lenticulata???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My vinny pike is pretty aggressive. Lenticulatas are pretty tho. I say go for it.

A 150 is not big enough for two pikes. There is a good chance one will get killed.

Sounds like you have made up your mind ;)

My experience with lents was not a good one. . . they are SUPER aggressive with each other once they hit maturity. I started with 7 and was left with a single female. She and a male that she paired with killed the rest within a week and were a solid pair for a while, one day she snapped and killed him with one blow (I saw it happen). I must also add that the tank was 72"l x 24"w x 22"h, so, "big enough".

To be honest, you will end up with a showdown and death if you go with a ven and a lent. I tried a big lent with a big johanna in an 8 foot 360. The johanna is currently in the sump.

Just for the heck of it, here's a video of a stingray breaking up a fight between them. Keep in mind both pikes are over a foots in length.

They are beautiful pikes to pass on, but I think you should heed the advice from the members that have kept this species. In much bigger tanks than you have, it seems that Lents have a tendency to cause havoc with each other as well as other pikes. It would be a shame to lose a beautiful pike and $60 on a stocking that is iffy at best. Maybe you could spy Craigslist for a large tank and make it a Lent tank. Just a thought.

Selling because i wanna buy a Lenticulatas. Pics are a lil old hes gained a few inches and beefed up. Whats he worth?
