An island somewhere......
I was at the LFS the other day and found this little fella! He was about 4" TL and is in perfect health otherwise. I don't know what they were asking price-wise but I kinda think he's had a rough life and deserves a better home.

Sometimes its best just to let it go,but if you have the space for a solo fish in the tank Then go for it.I from personal experience with the nub tail fish is they require extra care esp from diseases like fungus,finrot.... also other tank mates sense something is wrong with the way they swim and tend to nip at them like an injured fish thus more stress.

is that a jag?
yes

I think it would be cool to have. Especially if its a male and turns into a monster.

hmm question to ask is can you provide a seperate tank if the fish can not compete/ survive your tank with other fish???

Hate to sound shallow, but I wouldn't buy it just for the fact that it doesn't have a tail. They only time I will keep a mutilate fish is if it happened in my care. But if you're the type of guy who likes saving them and it struck a cord, then I'd say GO FOR IT!
