I am looking at purchasing this adult EBJD and would like your thoughts or comments. The seller says it is 8". I will be putting it into my new 100 gallon setup that currently has 3 -- two year old Clown Loaches. I have another 4" EBJD that I have purchased but is not in the tank yet and is being held for my pickup. What do you think? Should I buy this 8" EBJD? The private seller says it is 2 1/2 years old. It seems large for that age! The asking price is $100. Your comments please and thank you!

Um, H*ll ya:eek:, that are the genes i have been wanting, where they look like a normal Jack, but the colors are super intense. BREED HIM, Contact Ken davis and see if he has an extra female BGJD.

I say go for it too. Although i have heard that EBJD don't live as long as the regular Jacks. I don't know if thats true or not but you may want to look into it.

I spent 90 bucks on 3 juvies that all died at 2" yes buy it.

If it's what you want and have the 100 to spend, buy it.

If you are looking to breed I say that would be a goldfish to use he looks great good shape awesome color. If your ok buying a $100 fish do it. If your looking to breed you $100 is nothing because you could make that back if you do it right.

i agree with honda, that is a nice EBJD. haven't seen a big one like this for a long time now. Only ones ever seen grow big were the first EBJD's that came out. (better strain or bloodlines back than i guess??) Even their blue coloration was much more "electric" and intense, than the ones now. You should get it! :)

That is definitely an electric blue. 100 dollars is a stellar price for a 8".

Thanks Guys for all your comments!!! I appreciate your sharing of thoughts and insight--THANKS. The big guy has shared a tank with other Cichlids in the past who have fought as he sat back and observed. I have two other EBJD (about 4" each) that are also coming. Do you think it will work to have the big guy with two 4" EBJD in my 100 gallon? I am of course providing deco/pots/driftwood and live plants giving seclusion for each. I also have 3 Clown Loaches in the tank already that are about 4". The tank is fully cycled and ready to go. What do you think?
