should i get a other Oscar or what should i get

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its all personal preference its your tank , salvini would be cool in there try get a female won't get as big and better colours

Flowerhorns are amazing, don't listen to any hybrid haters, thye have the best personality i have ever seen in a fish and are pretty to, only problem is, it will kill your Oscar, especialy in a 4ft tank.

My baby 6" Flowerhorn is on his own in a 4ft, i can't even put my hand in the tank, let alone get him a tank mate.

They get along for now, i am keeping a close eye on it and can move the fh out if there are any problems

+1 I agree with you completely. I don't understand why so many damn self righteous people feel the need to tell people what they should do with their tanks. This is supposed to.be.a helpful forum with kind people giving friendly advice and constructive criticism. Not "do yourself a favor and change something that makes you happy just to make my high and mighty self feel content with my one fish". True it may be in the best interest and health of the fish to have less fish, but there are ways to have well stocked tank and keep fish happy. Besides, its a hell of a lot better than the little box they're in at the lfs. Sorry for venting on your thread. I'm just sick if people trying to give you rules for your tank, as if they actually have a say.

Did you read the OP? I'll quote again.

I did some fish moving recently, i got my 120 with a few fish but they are the larger fish and 1 convict... Stocklist is 1 4 inch oscar fish 1 4 inch flowerhorn fish 1 3 inch jack dempsey 1 2 inch convict and 1 4 inch tinfol barb and a 5 inch seganal birchir and i am soon adding a common pleco... Do you think i should add a other oscar, if not what cichlid do you have in mind???? I like oscars and they are cheap but i also like virity in my aquriums but i will probibly have to oprder anytghing besides an oscar... I was thinkin maybe a other birchir...

Oh i forgot, i have an xp3 canister and a penguin 350 runing on my 120 gallon 48x24x24...

So to recap, in a 4' tank he has an Oscar, Flowerhorn, JD, Con, Tinfoil Barb, Senegal and a common pleco and he wants to add another large bio load fish. Not only that his filtration for his current stock is only an XP3 and a Penguin 350. It would be a disservice to the MFK community to recommend any more fish to his current stock with his tank and filtration limitations.

Thus why I asked earlier if it was a grow out.

While I have seen far too much of what Wesley said happen, in this case I would agree with those recommending against adding to what will be a significant bio load with or without additional filtration.

No to the extra fish. That will only give the flowerhorn more fish to kill lol. You could however trade in the flowerhorn for an Oscar. Your tank will get along for longer. Although 2 oscars is max what I would do for a 120 without more filtration. Anyways what's the flow rate on an xp3?
