wow, thanks for post.
i might get a 300 gallon tank, and im debating whether i should have that oen be freshwater and raise some monsters in there, or have it saltwater so i can move my fish there from this 60 gallon.

If you have the time and the $$, I think you will greatly enjoy SW. We started with FW adn then decided to try SW. We now have a beautiful 100g SW tank, but it took over a year of education and several big losses before we got it right. I have to say, it is fully worth it, though because it is just unbelievable. My advice to you (to avoid your spending $$ hand over fist) is to do it right the first time. I can't tell you how many lights and fixtures and equipment we have gone through trying to find the right setup. Save your money and get everything you need. Then start setting up your tank. Don't try to dive in without the proper education. You definitely need a protein skimmer and Metal Halide lights if you plan on keeping corals. I would reccommmend live sand and live rock, as well. It takes about a year before you can really get the tank to look good, so be prepared!! Good luck! Check out "Reef Central" on the net for all the info you need!

also have a plan dont buy impulsively!

If u want a saltwater tank, then go for it
Sell ur freshwater fish
The filter and light will work but u plan to get triggerfish, u need a titanium heater.
If u do get triggerfish, I suggest u get the orange-lined
They are aggressive but dont get as big as others, perfect for ur tank
Protein skimmers is a must as they clean what u dont see
Remember you cant put to many fish in that tank
And the triggerfish would attack another fish sooner or later
unless the other fish can defend it self
Stay away from the lionfish until u get some experience
Hope this helps

Sumps work way better and the heater can go inside that so its protected

Saltwater tanks are not all that hard to take care of once you get the hang of it, as for the puffer , i have a porcupine puffer and he is awsome, he has tons of personality
