Should I keep my RBP's

I agree with cjs4873 paint the back and maybe even the sides of the tank. Get some driftwood they can chill behind. Skittish is just the way there are. Mine were like that when I first got them to. Now they come up to the lid when its feeding time. Also spend some time in front of the tank they will get to know you. I can walk around the tank all I want but if a friend comes over and walks close to the tank he gets jumpy so they will start to reconize you.
id take your fish and put them on a jardini diet haha( meaning id feed them a jardini arowana every once in awhile) just for laughs. ha
Hmm this is the worst idea I've heard yet, not only dumb but a expensive feeder.

^ uhh no dude its not dumb , dont you think fish stores take better care of there jardinis compared to there goldfish??? this is a piranha forum if its healthy its a good feeder imo. maybe you should check out the arrowana forum and lurk there, and jardinis aRE 65 for a 5 incher down here maybe thats alot of money to you but to us hobbyists who spare no expense for our PIRANHAS there not expensive feeders there well worth it if you have some dough :nilly:

Well my point really wasn't about the money but why would you waste a nice fish like a Arowana as a feeder but if you want some numbers. I have 5 piranhas and I would need 5 jars because they would easily eat one a piece. So at $65 thats pretty cheap because there more where I live closer to $85. But at $65 for 5 of them thats $325 for one day of feeding. I make pretty good money myself but I doubt most of us are going to blow $300 plus on one feeding. Sounds dumb to me.

ummmm its a treat not an every day diet man cmon lets use some common sence bro:D and one five incher would be cool you dont need five for a (treat)

I have your solution buddy just shut off one side of the tank and the other side on that should help also you need to spend more time with them not just feeding time.If that doesnt work send them to me ill pay for shipping.

I meant convict cichlids....

finally a girl in the p forum! welcome fizhgirl! and yes if you quarantine them well theres no prob with that. just i would use non living foods too and convicts as a treat.

whats a good way to cover the back and the sides while the tank is still setup. i know if i do it while they are in the tank there is going to be nothing but chimples galore when im done with it.

I would use paint, you get a really good finish, but you can use them aquatic backgrounds. its your choice. Have a look it some of the tanks on here for some ideas.
