noone has ever given me a freebie....... I wouldnt give them away either. cause if they cant afford to buy the fish chances are they cant afford to care for them either.

The thousands upon thousands of people adopting cats and dogs from the rescue shelters.... Who the he'll are these people right ?

Regarding fish, you realize that perhaps a particular fish may not be very prevalent at someone's local fish shop or region so he never had the opportunity to buy one locally.

Someone for the love of god, mail this man a free cookie

Donate them to a loveable family....free or not.

Fishes33 why don't you just get someone to take care of them for you for a couple months till things turn around? Have them agree that if you want them back they give them back and if they can no longer take care of them to contact you first.

I also know what you mean about people just reselling at a profit. I had an indo dat for sale couple months back. Gave the guy a deal on it, then see him listing it for sale the next day for over triple what I sold it for.

I'd volunteer to watch some of your fish for you till things turn around.

If you have gone thru of what I've been thru, then you wouldn't make this comment

About a year ago, I sold off my first TRUE ST datnoid for cheap to a member here. He promised to take care of the fish for life. The fish ended up getting blinded by his Super Red Arowana and he decided to sell it off for $400..

I felt very bad about it.

Now the fish is cripple and it is going to toss around in the hobby. The fish is suffering and I hate to see it that way...

I don't want history to repeat itself again, as I know people will just keep them (datnoids) with arowana and arowana always go for their eye if they fight...

Currently the market in Canada / Toronto doesn't support these large fish well. Some guy is trying to sell his 24"+ lince cat for $650 (it's so FREAKING cheap) and nobody buy it.

All I know is, if I sell it cheap or donate it, people will just take it for granted and waste the fish!

You kill them now, its game over... you take them to a lfs or donate...there is achance...a chance is always better than certain death.

There is absolutley no excuse you can use here to defend yourself. If you can't keep the fish, FINE..that is YOUR unfortunate circumstance (and I feel bad about a fellow member losing his/her job), however, that is no excuse to kill them. You got them, you cant take care of them now, therefore...donate.

So you get another fish after a few months, just gonna go around killing fish when you don't want em?

typically even in an average poll a troll or some ******* would pick the first option. no one has! there is a clear line drawn in this situation. this is undoubtedly messed up if you decide to kill your fish. what happens if you do sell them at w/e price you're looking for? it still goes to some stranger you don't know, don't they?? you've been around this forum for a while- you should know that there are plenty of hobbyists who would properly care for them. we've all been through rough times; however you gotta keep your **** together man. don't do things you'll regret.
