Are you serious...how is my post not true.
If a dog is too violent to adopt, among OTHER reasons, they will put it down.
Not true?!
Very true.

Un-real...then you ice this cake by saying, and I quote..."i have no clue where you live"...you type all that, just to step on your own toes and not even know you did it?
Exactly just that...you have no clue.
Then there are people telling the OP to mind his own business!!!
Definitely a different MFK than I remember...

you're creating a storm in a teacup......for reasons that i cannot explain. maybe you should re read your post, you implied that THE ONLY REASON a dog would be put down is if it were too aggressive to be adopted. i pointed out that that is not true. What's false about your statement is that's not the ONLY reason they'd be put down. i did not step on my own toes, i simply pointed out that i do not know how things work in your city but how the facilities i've visited in numerous states operate. You're clearly a dog lover and don't really care about what the law says and this repeatitive discussion is just derailing the thread. how about you and i just agree to disagree?

Most places do put dogs down after they spend a certain amount of time there.

that was my main point when i mentioned i visit facilities. i probably go every other week and after seeing a dog there for 2 months, you start to see warning signs about their adoption fee being lowered and if they're not adopted by X date, they'll be put to sleep. Sad really but that's what happens when people want the young and the pretty ones first. The old and less cosmetically attractive get left behind and put to sleep or transfered to another facility.

This country loves dogs too much. Some more then their own kids and some have dogs in place of real a child of their own. Sad actually.

When I read stories of people running into burning building to save a dog and they end up losing their life to save a dog …really? What the hell were you thinking… it is just a dog… literally. And no… a dog is not part of the family…. it is a pet.

Just my “opinion”.

Dogs get put down in a shelter situation for reasons of age, health, adoptability, behavior, breed, no room etc the list goes on and on. In big cities they also have areas of the shelter that most people are not allowed access to where they have to house the animals being held for criminal cases as well, these animals can not be put down or adopted till the case are settled so the more room they take up the less for the other animals.

If I was in the OPs situation and I felt that the animals were not being treated right I would call the animal control for the area make a report and hope for the best. If they are following the law there is not anything they can do, if they are not following the law they will be forced to correct the problems or give up the dogs.
hopefully it works out in the best interest of the animals and I mean the four legged ones.

How about, he sounded like he wasn't going to call if he thought they would be euthanized...so I just gave him worst case scenarios.I didn't want to or will ever care to go into a regionalized blueprint of what each municipality does and what their specific policies are.

To split hairs is trolling young man.

attempting to have a discussion with you is pointless, i'm not sure you even follow what you're saying.

It sounds like someone missed their counseling session this week.
