Is this bothering the fish or is it bothering you??? Please don't listen to someone who doesn't even know the name of the product he's suggesting you tranquilize it with & could possible kill your fish. Clove oil stops the fish from breathing & can cause brain damage. If you were to tranq a fish, use MS222 or Finquel. You should also be sure to add Melafix & Pimafix to the water, until the fin is totally healed. But you might never see it back to it's normal shape after you cut it.

its probably doing no harm to the fish at all.

most growths on fins do nothing.

its only if its red and inflammed (or signs of blood) that there is cause for concern.

if its more silvery (like the colour of the fish) its nothing to worry about.

it does not stop the fishes gills it just makes them slightly i will put it in words you understand (sleepy)
i have used it to sedate a gold fish why i removed the tooma that goldfish is still swimming in front of me 17 months later

oh and by the way a fish can quite happily live with out a chunck of its fin it makes no difference to the way the fish swimms unlike a hole fin would

I cant get any pics yet but it's like a brown growth and looks like a small mountain.

i toataly agree with you lupin i was only messing by the way but a brown mountain could mean many of things we realy need a pic eaven if its on your mobile/ipod and i did not say go and put a fish in surgery but what i said was if it got any worse i would take action

It bothers me when a person is supposed to give intelligent advise & doesn't even bother to check their spelling, use punctuation or the correct name of something that could potentially kill their fish. Have you ever used clove oil on anything?

i do apologize pufferpunck not all of us are perfectionist i do not see the need to wast timeee on a post putting in punctuation and checking spelling what difference does it make oh and i dont think you should question my knowledge
and yes i have used clove oil and i do realise what damage it can do but if a fish is on its last leggs (not saying your dollar is) its better using it than letting your fish die ive used it on my gold fish to remove a tooma and that gold fish is still here after 17 months with no health problems and i think you should consentrate on the felas problem not trying to start arguments with other members and dont tell me how to do my posts
oh and sorry about that back to your problem i would upload pics as soon as you can but i wouldnt take any action unless your fishes fin gets any worse
