Rofl, you want a peaceful cichlid community and you're getting a Trimac for it? Haha, you're funny.

FishonFire...try to keep up. :screwy: If I wanted peaceful, I would order up a bunch of Geo's or something. And how come you only mentioned the Trimac? Is the Labiatus peaceful? or is it the Escondido or Argentea? hmmm..

:D :D just kidding......but seriously pay attention.

Keep them Balton. Do not let them go. They are AWESOME. Just try a smaller community with the pair. Same fish just get rid of the Trimac and maybe the Jag. If it's 8 feet I feel you can get away with a community of larger cichlids with the Festae pair as long as ther is TONS of plant cover rock structures and such. I know people are going to disagree but I think it might be able to be done.

The Trimac is what I want the most and I'm not getting rid of my Jag for sure.

You guys are probably right though, I guess what I'll do is give up the Dovii idea...(for now). I'll put all the Central Americans in the big tank. The Festae pair can have the little tank.

I have 3 v.synspilum Ill give you for the pair. I think that you should keep them. Ive complimented you I dont know how many times on them. Those are sharp lookin festaes kid!!. See, there I go again, I just cant help myself.

no dude keep them, put them in the 256, they will breed and defend but they wont kill everythink!!! i no its a much smaller scale but i have 3 breeding pairs like sajicas in a 35 gallon with other non breeders it can be done.
overcrowd the tank and you carnt get rid of the DOVII are you mad!!! i would try anyway, if it doesnt work you can a) sell both or one on, b) seporate and have the female with the dovii with a tank divider and the male in the community.

I know where you are coming from. Parting with Festae, whether male or female, is a tuff decision to make. I know first hand. I recently sold this fella, because i wanted something with more attitude.

This is what i replaced him with.

I'm entirely happy with this Red devil, heaps of raw, untapped attitude. Yet i regret selling the Festae big time, and you will to.

don't do it.
nice festaes are still not too common in the hobby. find a way to keep them. or why not have TWO CA tanks? then you can put the male in one and the female in the other.

keep them they are wonderful or if getting rid of ship emm to me:):)
