I say no because I kept a 20" one for 8 years before I had to sell him.
He was a great fish.

LOL really the wrong forum to have a problem with Pacus, anyway. Maybe find a betta forum or something to complain about the monster fish we keep on MFK... get more support there.

Not a total ban. At least, restrict the pacus to responsible owners and issue them permits for that reason. Too many pacus suffer from irresponsible actions by their owners who do not know how quickly these fish can grow.
