Hi everyone need urgent help..I have a shovelnose catfish who suddenly started to swim upside down and side ways in a very odd manner. He is not eating and his stomach is bloated. He is around 20 inches.

Lower the water level so it can stay on it’s belly. Add some Epsom salt (1 tbsp per 5g) and kanamycin.

As viktor stated. 5g of water. Don’t feed for now. Reassess after steps taken.
Sorry to hear that, but I've had a few that have gone the same way and not been able to save one of them. It's almost as if they have had a stroke or something similar.
I fear we haven't learned a thing in this thread and the occurrence it describes. I hope the OP has but this will remain unknown to us too, it seems.
This is the disappointment to me. The fish death is almost nothing in comparison.
