This is him when I first got him at 5" -July 2010
A few months later @ 8" -Nov 2010
And Now at 13". He is about 3 years old
Beautiful male I like how he went from orange to orange and white trait I love about them is there colors change very easily

Wow look how much his color has changed! I dont think ive ever seen that much difference in color from juvenile to adult ever. Makes me wonder if my orange midas might surprise me.

Thanks all. He is definitely a favorite, and a complete pain in the arse. I keep trying to spawn him with a red female but he is such a jerk. They have spawned twice now but he keeps kicker her to the curb and she gets pissed and trys to guard her eggs, and in the may-lay they get either eaten or destroyed. I was able to separate the parents from the eggs on the last one, but she got through the divider and then he did.
If you trying to spawn I would buy a few females off of Jeff and let him pick cause it seems like he doesnt like her and my male Isn't any better he's killed 6 fish including his mate just make sure to use a divider I like the egg crate light diffusers I hope to see some spawning behavior from this big bull

How to proof a wild fish is not a hybrid is a challenge unless it was capture from the native source. Red devil flooded lot of waterway her and they all have the thick lips when fished. Only issue to me are they pure or middevil.
