Would like to see other members pearsei.
I have had my juvie for a little less than 4 months. My son named him hulk, fish ieats like a pig and is growing fast

Here are some pearsei I had a couple of years ago. They ranged in size from 12 to 14" and were about 3 years old. I no longer have them ... wish I did.

They looked like your young ones. Once they hit around 4-5", they started to get their adult colors

Baby sitting these guys temporarily

they are in a 130gal tank with young lyonsi, melanurum, carpintus, and to squelch and territoriality ambitions 5 adult Tilapia zillii



Are they getting picked on ? Mine was a total wusss had to remove the metae that was giving him problems. Even the little l600 isnt scared of him

No aggression at all, except within the Tilapia themselves, and that is mostly bluster.
I use Tilapia quite a bit, because while they are the largest fish in the tank, they ignore the other cichlids, yet are large enough to totally inhibit the other cichlids from any territorial ambition.

The Tilapia are consummate gluttons, first to the top groveling for food, so by example, spur any shy others into eating.
