Show off your pearsei

Well interesting development… fish has been with me 5 days. Been getting a gravel vac water change every day now to heal up so in no way should this thing be comfortable enough to eat out of my hand but it did. Gobbled up two Omega One algae wafers and was looking for more.

Pearsei updates: the fish I acquired in July of 2021 succumbed to a bacterial infection and I caught it too late to be able to save him. When a pearsei stops eating that is a sign that something is off and I should have paid better attention. After its passing I tried to find another with no success. All the online vendors were out so I did the best I could and put my name on the call list at Wet Spot.

Since no one had them I decide to get the next best thing, a Bocourti. I found a store that was a bit of a drive away and bought 3 with one that just looked a bit different, I assumed it was a male thus the slight difference... Its the fish to the far right in the bag. Looking back I should have seen the sign of the beginning of the belly color


As it grew, I noticed some difference between this one fish and the other two bocourti but still feeling it was just showing as a dominant male bocourti


It was pretty much when it got to this stage I realized its a Pearsei.


So my little monster Pearsei is growing like a weed and will eventfully get to go in my 300.

That is my update... Still cant believe I dont see updates from others, but it is a massive fish that needs a very large tank so I guess I understand why noone really keeps them.

Update of the new pearsei.

Here he is with one of the Bocourti. Oh yeah they were almost all the same size when I got them, lol. He is growing so fast and so much bigger than the other two Bocourti


He is getting big but not quite big enough to go into the 300... the big endli in there would likely get him

Finally made the big move. The pearsei is now in the 300 with the big boys

I would guess the biggest bala to be about 15” at least but the pearsei just made itself at home with them and kind of schooled with them for the first week

Now it’s completely confident and is even pushing them around a little at feeding time and I would guess he is only 7”.

Its great having a pearsei back in the big tank, cant wait for it to put on some size now.
