Okay Everybody,

This is a chance to show off YOUR sump. Make sure it is yours and not a picture of someone elses, dont post if you dont have a picture or diagram.

Also Please State the display tank size and the stocking as well as media and explain the principles behind your design(if you wish).

Heres Mine it is a 2'8x20x18" sump with 2x20x15" of media space, Drip Tray, Bioballz and scourers. It has a resun sp-6000 return and in spite of some doubts on how good they are mine has run since setup without a problem and is now running on different filter(this sump is being sold, switching to a different sump!).

Its on a 3x2x2 that has housed saratogaz, cons, bream salmont ail catfish, scats, sailfins, murray cod + more.

So here it is

This Gives you an idea on the sump to tank ratio!

Just to let you know it had a sdrip tray and a very large media capacity,

This Sump was built by aquariumsrus, all media(bar scourers) was supplied and pump+drip tray and eggcrate. Theese guys do an awsome job so if your in aus and in need of tank or sump give them a call, heres a website

Crappy photos, probably saw this in my log from about a fortnight ago.

In place, scourers are in bags there, obviously not running :p

Piping and spraybar for sump. Spraybar jets over 3 different layers of mechanical pads, including phosphate reducing pads, finest being 50 micron.

Better shot of the spraybar.

Fail photo of it running. It's quite a small sump, about 18Gal, running 550-600gph.

Is the water level usually that high in the filter? Usually you'd want most of the bioballs out of water ie more O2 for bb.

no it isnt but if i run it much lower my pump is exposed and can burn out so instead. and i wanted max media capactiy

This is my 300 gallon rubbermaid sump. It is for my 135 freshwater community. It is located in the crawl space, which is nice, it keeps the noise and mess out of the house.

I have a lot of filtration running off my Iwaki MD70RLT return pump:

Eheim 2017 Canister (no impeller)
Merlin Plus Fluidized Bed Filter
DIY 6-Biowheel Filter
DIY Wet Dry Bucket, 4 gallons of Bio-Balls
DIY Reverse Flow Gravel Filter with 60 pounds Gravel

It's not pretty, but I've got all the room I want! :)
