basic 20g long for my 55g planted (10 assorted corys, 6 congo tetras, 1 swordtail, 1 ram, 9 otos, 1 4" cae, 1 7.5" L165 that just started "puberty", few snails and a ghost shrimp

1.5" overflow that only has a slight trickle going through it... .75" syphon line.. .75" return from the pump (4.5' head 450gph+/-).. pot scrubbies and swamp cooler media for polishing... the second row of scrubbies is there just because there was room.. drip plate is a modifyed under gravel filter

the piece of paper on the left marks where the sump fills to if i lose power.. the papers on the right are the "dont fill over this line" and the "make sure the water is above here before going to work" marks

id post an amazing pic of a 60g sump but 4 things...

1 - i dont have pics of it

2 - im about a 35 minute drive away from it since im at my cottage

3 - its not finished

4 - theres no tank yet (its not finished)

Here is mine, its a 45g sump, running a 150g 6x2x2 (UK)

Floss then flocor in the tower then through 2kg on meduim crushed coral to keep the PH staedy (up), above the coral is two 300w heaters, in the next chamber i have added K1, i have packed this in, it is meant to be best if no more than half the chamber is filled with K1 then it can be circulated to better effect but i didnt have a big enough air pump and the power head i tryed wasnt upto it so there i packed it in. Then from there to more flocor media or into the pump chamber houseing 2 Ehiem 1260 returning to a single large spray bar.

The tank is home to

Two 7 inch Motoros
One 9 inch silver aro
One 11 inch TSNxRT
Three 3 inch silver dollars
Two 6 inch Red severums

Alright, ill play...
300gl with a 100gl DIY sump. about 80-90lbs of ceramic rings under the bio balls. Had the bio balls filled to the top but had to go that low due to the return of the overflow and the height of the sump (24" Tall).

:D

No pics at the minute but i can sort some out for you if need be mate, but, the K1 chmaber is packed in not moving, i didnt have a good enough power head to get it moving about enough, or a strong enough air pump.

For the K1 chamber all it would need is for the chamber to be half filled or enough so that the media can move about freely, the more the better as you will know and the K1 to stay in there as it floats all over the place when new, it does become less bouyant in time, maybe a few days, i added a sponge that you can just see on exit side of the chamber to keep it in from being sucked under into the heater chamber.
A good power head or big air stone would do the trick, when i did try it with a power head though i noticed that the K1 easly got sucked to the power head intake gauze/fiter.
