You live in ice fishing for trout head quarters, bundle up and quit complaining. Drive to any one of the river mouths on Lake Michigan and look in the harborsxthao3;4722222; said:

We've been fishing pyramid lake about once a week...wish it wasnt a 2 hour drive each way or we'd fish it much more. Nothing crazy...just cold...freezing eyelits on your rod. But we have been catching the average 20-23" cutthroats. Still waitin to catch the elusive 10# plus.
Nice trout guys. I am from nh were trout fishing is one of my favorite hobbies. No i live on the coast in south carloina and no fresh water down here. I do miss it. Trout fishing and large, and small mouth bass fishing. Guess i had to trade a few things not to have 2 foot snow storms in the winter.
got out on sat. for the mn winter trout (lakes) opener and got a limit of bows. i love fishing for them through the ice. it is way cool to see them cruze in out of noware and grab your bait. i even got a nice buck on a tip-up. the first tip-up trout i have cought. i also got a few pike that day. pic is comming, only got one of half of our limit. we were on a lake were the limit is 2 and we all got our 2 each.
i agree i love watching the strike and to see then come in, nose up to your lure then it is up to you to get the bite. i need a bigger blade on the auger the 8" is not enough.
i caught two nice males today that i let go and my roommate got two as well. the larger one i caught hit hard three times i kept screwing up the hook set but he really wanted it. it was a nice day to be out on the ice

What an amazing day on the water. Super cold eyelits freezing the whole thing, but 17 fish between 3 guys all on dry flies! Wish I didnt work tomorrow. Can't wait to get back.
