Oh i know what you mean.. I bred horses and kept them.{so i did not breed anymore.. It is difficult to say good bye to any thing you nurture ... i love all my animals so it is never easy.. but i would rather do that with the fish then let them be feeders...;)

Yup. Unless they're guppies or mollies which I happened to bred in the spare tank.:D

I breed guppies for that purpose too..also because i like the guppies too.. i bought a Clown knife a month ago that i was forced to feed him some guppies because he would have starved otherwise.. every guppy i would give him though bothered me .. i raised them so you know you get attached to them as well.. of course better feeling bad then losing my CK.. My Ck is eating only pellets now so i am :) also went through this with the big jag i bought.. so guppies are safe for now..

Currently I'm killing alot of guppies because of these little jar. If not they may just turn on their own kind for fun.:(
