Don't read too much into terms/lingo and where the intake is routed. An intake is an intake is an intake for the most part. And yeah effectively you probably could have modified your stock airbox for hp gains rather than splurging on an intake. The difference between the two is probably a few hp at most and marginal when you're talking anything you're gonna feel..

I'm only 15 but I convinced my mom to buy me a car! It is a 1994 Ford Explorer 4Dr. Green. But the special features include....

• Front Passenger Door doesnt open from the outside
• Rear Right Door doesn't have a handle and doesn't open from the inside
• trunk door opens but doesn't stay up
• Funky pinkish purple window tint with bubbles
• It was owned by a carpenter before he went to jail so it is still full of his crap
• 187xxx miles on it.
• Needs a new battery.

But hell, it runs good and was only $480 I'll take a pic when we get it on saturday from the towing company.
