the car is almost sure to understeer into a tree when you do try to in the real world
I believe you meant oversteer. Drift cars are designed to oversteer more easily than conventional vehicles so they can get "slideways". :)

i have been in drift cars, the scene doesn't do anything for me but give me a headache......just like street racing.
and yes i've been sideways at 120mph in full drift......just a different kind of control, the game i play is for speed, not to look pretty sliding through corners........

but hey to each his own, that's why every good "drifter" has a tire sponsor which takes that cost out of their budget.....

the game i play is speed. i need hp to do what i do. we can play games of speed/drag or course racing. then when im done, ill go back home n drift with the same car.

dont bag a sport just because u dissagree with it. sponsors or not, i have zero. im just a personal drifter that enjoys it. but for u to disrespect it is kinda weaksauce.

i dont really like nascar or hondas or drag racing. but i give respect when i see a guy win nascar, or give respect when a guy has a really really fast car drag racing. or a turbo'd honda. i dont bash them n tell them there wasting time/money on that "crap" or how "stupid" it is just because im into something else.

respect.

you're a little sensitive, as i wrote it in my post it's my opinion.....period.....
did i call you stupid? no.....

point out where i disrespected anyone.....or anything.....just by voicing MY opinion.

Do you mean street racing as in rally, hill climbs etc, or as in kids in mums car with a fart can dragging at the traffic lights?? :irked:

I enjoy watching drifting, and I admire their skill, but personally I prefer circuit racing and tarmac rallies/hill climbs etc. I've got an eg civic with a b18c-r and close ratio box, and altho its not the fastest car in the world, it handles well and is fun to drive while being cheap to run and reliable. I'd love to spend a bit more cash on it, cage it, upgrade the brakes and suspension and get into it a bit more seriously, but its just not possible right now so I settle for the occasional club track day and a bit of a squirt on a twisty deserted country road.

sensitive? maybe...

but, thats like me saying, fish keepers are freakin weird and they shouldn't be keeping fish, they should be eating them...

would i be aiming it towards anyone specifically on this forum? nope, but would many people respond with UHHHH WHAT THE.... yes.

I race circle track. I love full contact racing. Drifting isn't so much racing(IMO) as it is an art form. It obvously isn't about who can get around the track the fastest, it's about who can do it with the most grace. Drifting isn't my thing, but I have respect for all types of racing, no matter what type it is. Drifting is a style of driving that requires a great amount of skill. Not to mention, it looks fun as hell.
