Hi here is my first post here at MFK
This is a 55g set up with a mixture of pebbles, sand, potting soil and some succulent plants. These pics were taken some time ago and the tank is now slightly different.
Two leos, both female, one is 3,4 years old and the younger one, a high yellow is 5 months old.

That setup is awesome

How do you heat it? What is that thing suspended in the corner?

Nice geckos israelyang and welcome to MFK's ! I was just wondering what heat sources do you use for your tank?

Hi thanks.
I use a heating pad directly under their cave. It's around low 80s in there. I also have a ceramic heating lamp but since my tank is tall it only raises the ambient temperature a couple degrees higher and I don't think that's energy efficient, so I leave it off most of the time. I know my tank temperature is on the lower side but the geckos seem to adjust just fine, active, good appetite, regular toilet...

thanks FishyFan.
Read my above post for heating. The thing in the air is where I grow my baby Lithops (a type of succulent desert plant), they need lots of moisture as young seedlings and my geckos don't like moisture. I don't want to mist the gecko tank (it also leaves stain on the glass which I dislike), I will transplant the seedlings to the gecko tank when they get bigger. They grow extremely slow, or just because I am so impatient? :)

Thats an amazing setup! No naturalistic!

Thanks that's always what I strive for for my fish, crab and geckos. Most of the material I use are readily available, rocks are everywhere, play sand is $1, potting soil is $2, the most expensive item in the setup is the heating lamp + ceramic bulb, they are around $60, heating pad is $30, light is $20, tank I got it for free because it leaks water.

The leos are lousy hunters anyway, I wonder how they really survive in the wild :)

I think your tank might be a little on the cool side and as a result your geckos are more sluggish. Probably the reason they appear to be lousy hunters. ;) If your ceramic heater isn't heating your tank well, bump it up to a larger watt one.

Israelyang, that has to be the best leo setup I've ever seen!!!!! They look so happy in there. Those shedding pictures are cool too!!!
