Hello all,

I just started to get back into aquariums after not having one for over 10yrs. This is my first try with live plants so we will see how it goes. I am a huge fisherman and love fishing the local rivers so I decided to make a local wild fish tank..I have had it up for about a week so far and everything is working ok.

It is a 55 gallon tank, Fluval 304 canister, aquaclear hang on filter, Halmiton metal halide light with florecent bulbs. I probably need a sump from what I have read on this board.

Right now I have 2 pumkinseed, 3 crayfish, 3 chubs. I will probably add a yellow perch if I can get one.

sorry, that isnt a pumpkinseed, its a green sunfish. lucky. ive been trying to get one for SO long. keep up the good work and be careful, the green sunfish might eat the crayfish some day.

Yep, you are correct, that is a green sunfish. I actually have two I caught at a local pond. I always thought they were pumpkinseeds...guess I learned something today.

Wow buddy that isnt a yellow catfish thats a baby flathead catfish (Pylodictus olivaris) They get about as big as blue cats to, so be for warned
