My largest Dat just died. Looked fine the night before and in the morning and it was dead.

It was one of these from this thread. I think I had it about 13 years.
down to 6 of the original 10 I bought years ago.

Man that must suck for you. Love datnoids and that guy is a beast! Losing a fish sucks, especially when you have raised for many years.

Well if there’s a bright side none of the other fish look sick. I think this is isolated. Just old age most likely.
the worst is waking up and all your fish are dead or the tank is empty lol.
I feel pretty good about the life I gave it.

Stunning tank Egon forreal, I think this mightve been the push I needed to switch to Dats from Gar down the line soon. Really the epitome what I call a true success in our hobby. 10+ years is one hell of an accomplishment. These fish in general, are not easy to keep.

Up date on these guys. I’m down to 6 of them now. They are in an 1100. Just fed them and 5 are piled up to you be side. Not sure why they do this but it happens every time they feed them.
