Hes just now starting to show minimal signs of the gold outlining the black along his tail stripe and last bar, slow going. I bet its another 6 months before we really start to what see these guys out of Rapps shipment are made of.

5.5" tops. He is noticeably smaller in girth than the other brutes. Much more delicate, but pretty much the same length. All has to do with it being a picky eater im sure. While the others are boiling the tank stuffing themselves on pellet stuffed market shrimp he sits back waiting on the filet mignon.

As of right now hes my favorite of the bunch. Hes really aggressive at feeding time, but not aggressive towards the other fish like the alpha Orino is. My camera isnt doing him much justice. Hes a stunner. Wish I had a whole tank full of just Peru Monos. Would be sick!

hmm interesting.. my guy was like that but he grew out of it.. i would say my guy is about the same.. 5.5 inches.. but he's off feeders.. i fed him on one side of the tank and the rest on the other.. i think after a while he was sick of his food trying to be snatched from him so he started to bang everything. i fed him rosie reds and then i switch him over to freezed fried krill which is the same color as the rosies.. i would wet it first and squeeze it a bit so it wouldn't float so much on the surface.. i would get the kelberi alert and then would throw the krill hard in front or near him on the waters surface and he would take it (i would use the head part and a little more.. i would cut it so that its a longish straight piece.. after a while i seen him trying to steal the little cut pieces that i feed to the others. now he takes anything freeze fried krill... and he also throws the others a beating if they attempt to both him... maybe give what i said a try.. hope it helps
