Anyway, there is nothing wrong with Betta's. These are monsters in their own right.

We are also here to help newer hobbyists, most people start with smaller tanks and fish then work their way up. Even those who keep large tanks and fish may have a fondness for others as well, some of my favorite fish are quite small, the pygmy and dwarf sunfishes. Brook stickle backs are also little monsters, at least in attitude.

if you have a big tank and don't want to turn it into something you'd see at a chinese restaurant, you could go with something like a betta and a big school of black neon tetras or something. or even 2 schools of 2 diff types of fish.
