I have an Electric Blue Acara who may be sick but I just do not understand, he has been this way for roughly 2 months now , he eats with no problems but does not seem to be able to move much almost like he is paralyzed just lays at the bottom and then "drags" himself around , but seems to be doing worst in the last couple days, he will just stay put without moving and then tip over. He is eating , fins are normal , no one picking on him , large tank (180 gallon), weekly 40-50% water changes and I feed a variety of food. Any help apprieciated.

Here is the video: EDIT HOW DO I UPLOAD A VIDEO? IT DOES NOT WORK?

Would suggest posting water parameters. Including tank info like tank size, tankmates etc. Attaching files/media is working. Try again and hope it works.

Tank size: 180 gallon
Parameters: 0 , 0 , 15ish
Stock: 1 Severum, 1 Acara , 7 Geophagus Tapajos , 6 Congo Tetras , 6 Rainbow Bosemani and 6 Yoyo Loaches.

When I try uploading a video it sais "The uploaded file does not have an allowed extension".

Thanks , it is very weird. I myself never experienced this, this is why I am so baffled.

Sad to see the poor thing like that. The issue could be anything, from swim bladder, internal parasites, bacteria, etc..all of that can impact the fish's buoyancy. It is hard to know what it is to be honest but I'd make sure it gets food and I'd increase the water changes. Fish for the most part are tough enough to "heal" themselves.

I've seen similar buoyancy issues with livebearers infected with parasites, that tend to sit on the substrate. I've also seen corydoras swimming upside down, also due to internal parasites. If you can get new life spectrum hexshield you may want to try feeding the fish that for a start. Or look up @ RD., member here, his thread about magnesium sulfate soaked food, also having a negative effect on hex infested species.

Sorry your going thru this. It almost looks like a neurological problem. If it were swimming it looks like a whirling syndrome or fish tb. Would dose a little prazipro to the tank and keep the water clean. Would watch the other tankmates.
