I went icefishing, and had some left over shiners, so i mae the HUGE mistake of feeding the shiners to my biggest dat, a 7+" NTT. He sucked down like 3 shiners, and about 2 weeks later he has small whiteheads appearing on his face. They will be there for 2 days, then disappear, and then they come back almost in the same spot.

It seems to be spreading, and i need to know how to fend off this parasite/whitehead thing.

Does anyone have knowledge on this kind of thing?? I raised the temp from 82 to 86F, and added some salt and melafix, to no avail.

Diet is bloodworms, frozen krill, crawlers, worms, raw fish flesh....

Can anyone help me?? Please

sorry man, ive never had that with any of my dats. i can only suggest to isolate him from any other dats, and the basics with heat and salt and such, but it looks like you've already done that. good luck bro, and hopefully someone will have a solution for you.

Sorry, I havnt seen that before. Good luck with him.

1 of my Dats did get these "white heads" around the 3" mark. They would come and go, but the fish never really got sick. It ate like a pig and eventually the "white heads" stopped. They never effected my other fish.

I know this doesn't explain what it is, or how to treat it, but thats my experience with it.

Oh, and I never fed this Dat live food, so (in my case atleast) it wasn't from its food.

Thanks for the responses! The dat isnt exactly sick... He just has his whiteheads..

He eats like a champ still, and is as active as normal. Its just his appearance... but i hate it!

I think im going to try some hikari prazipro.

Thanks for all the fedback people..
