Sick JD, need advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Got the salt in yesterday, the effect was both positive and quick. His color and apparent comfort improved within minutes. His normal insanity when the bag of food is visible returned last night, he always ate well but was less excited about it. This morning he is as blue as ever and his playful personality is back. He was just chasing the girls back and forth as they ran about the living room. Is this normal? Should I leave the salt in for good?

Seems to be back to his normal activity and interaction level. He was chasing the girls as they ran back and forth across the living room again yesterday, he hadn't been playing with them while he wasn't looking good so I know he feels much better. His color is much better and he looks more healthy since we cut back his portion size per feeding.

Update: Nassa is doing quite well, back to his crazy self. I think I figured out the issue...kerosene poisoning. He evidently knocked the cheap unshielded thermometer against the side of the aquarium thus cracking it and releasing the red kerosene inside. It wasn't readily visible from normal viewing angles and the ambient temperature at the time didn't necessitate close monitoring. I'm happy to report the burn mark is barely visible now. Thanks to all for the help and advice given.
