Can you post a picture?

Here's a few pics of the sore. It actually looks a little better than the other day; however my wife pointed out her belly is sunken in :( she pooped today so at least that's a good sign.

It looks like an Aeromonas infection (bacterial septicemia). If you can post your water permaters ammonia, nitrite, nitrate & Ph I'll recomend a med. Do large water changes and substrate vacuming. Keep the filters clean and use prime or a similar product (for redox reduction). Keep the tank clean and add 1 tablespoon of salt (provided you have no salt sensative fish) per 5 gallons of water in the mean time.

Poor fish, hate seeing them like that :(.
I'm sorry I have no idea what it could be.
It seems to me you are doing all you can, but I think this fish will need some sort of medicine.
Hopefully you will get some (quick) responses as to which meds might help your fish out.

PH dropped from its usual 8.0 to about a 7.5, ammonia is 0. I have to get a new test kit for nitrite/nitrate. I've been doing two large scale (40% of tank volume in a 125) a week, I cleaned both ehiem 2217s and staggered replacing chemipure in them a few weeks before she really got sick. I changed the sponge on the sponge filter and added a second sponge filter. I only use prime as a water conditioner, I need to get more aquarium salt, as I've used it all on her. The only fish in the tank are my la ceiba pair, and a few of their fry from their last batch. I bumped the temp up to 83 should I go any higher?

Treat with Kanamycin or even a combination of Kana & Furan 2. Remove the Chmi-pure before treatment. Both meds need to be used at full dosage as directed on the package. If you can't find the Kana right away start with the Furan 2 and add the Kanamycin when you get it. Furan 2 is not absorbed so it is only usful topicly, the Kanamycin is absorbed and is what you need if this is systemic. If you start with Furan 2 and it resolves no need to add the Kanamycin. You may need both however.

Thank you! She is taking a turn for the worst this morning. Laying on her side and is refusing to eat. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she makes it.
