Sick LFS prices

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well that's just not right, I try to treat all of our customers with respect, many of our "regulars" just spend a few bucks a week on crickets, but they could go somewhere else... so its good to keep them coming back.
I would try to find a new place if its an option.

My LFS is outragous. They got a bunch of large trades ins.Listed below what they are and prices:
Large Pacus $. 45.00 A PIECE!
Large Oscars $.59.99 WOW!
Large Silver Aro $ 199.99 TO HIGH!
Large Geos $ 20.89 Thats okay!

Sometimes they'll give you discounts if the manager isn't there. Plus these fish are no bigger than 12''.

Well my LFS has it's reasons.

I did return like $150 dollars worth of fish once.

But it is there fault. They said they would all get along. I actually bought > $200 worth. The rest died from not getting along.

They don't usually take fish back. I had to wait for the owner to come to the store before they would take the fish back. (Only the live ones)

I bought a 125G tank /w stand, lights, glass lids, and canopy for $1600. That has to be a large profit for them. I noticed they don't have any big tanks like this one in there store anymore. Must have been hard to sale. I also buy fish food from them for my cichlids.. at $10 for a small bottle kind of the size of an avg asprin bottle.

I bought a used 240G from them, that had been sitting there for I think at least a month (from hearing them talk). And I buy random fish here and there.

I also bring in new customers with me. When ever my family visits I take them to the store.

But I swear, it seems like it's such a hassle.. My asking what the fish prices are and then not wanting them because it's to high.

There is one other LFS that I am aware of. But it's really lame. Though the pricing there is good. However, you have to tell the owner what you own before she will let you take fish. She wants to make sure they have good homes. This gets a little annoying about the 4th time. Her stock is generally low and just very simple fish like guppies and gold fish. She will order for you though.
