Not too sure what's going on with my Oscar, but today when I got home he/she is very lethargic and not looking too good at all...He was fine yesterday morning and then I noticed yesterday afternoon and again at night when I fed he wasn't too interested in eating. I did notice last night when I came down to check them out before I went to bed he had white stringy poop. He/she is about 3.5" and is getting picked on now by the 3" Green Terror in my tank (the oscar is usually the dominant fish).

I don't have a hospital tank, but I do have a 29 gallon with a small ram and firemouth in it. So my question is should I move him to the 29 even though I'm not too sure what's wrong with him? I feel like he's not going to make it too long in my main tank with the GT picking on him.

Water Parameters:
PH 7.0
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate <5
Temp 78-80

I just netted him and have him hanging in the water so hopefully it'll keep the GT away from him until I figure out what to do.

Any help is appreciated as he's my favorite fish...not sure what caused him to go downhill so fast.

white stringy poop indicates internal parasites. pretty easy & inexpensive to treat. that entire tank needs to be treated.

That's what I had read...just wanted to be sure. I'm not sure if he's going to make it he's pretty bad off...not moving much at all. Sucks cause he's been eating NLS Thera+A pellets so I thought that would help if he had internal parasites...What kind of medication do you guys recommend? I see Walmart (only place open right now) has Tetra Parasite Guard would that work or should I wait to get something different from the LFS tomorrow?

And now I'm looking at my GT and he's got a white spot on his tail fin and one on his top fin...ick? It's like my tank took a nosedive overnight!

just going by a google search, that med treats IP's and externals.
Did you introduce anything new to that tank?
I'd do a big water change.

To be safe, read the sticky at top of this forum section on all the info you need to post to get appropriate replies.
off the top of my head, list all tank species, as some meds are dangerous to scaleless fish etc.

PS: Thera-A helps build some immunity to parasites, but is not sufficient to treat an infection.

no, not with IP's. maybe he got a severe internal bacterial infection? with truly no prior symptoms, it's beyond me.
So sorry to hear! :-((

K sorry adding all the info requested in the sticky to hopefully save my other fish...

Thanks in advance.

can you get a pic of him in water, before disposing of him?

aside from possibly missing earlier symptoms in the oscar, I have no immediate idea. your tank & other fish look very good.
Have you seen the oscars' poop appear normal? (before yesterday)
Do you have a water changing schedule?
Do you treat the new water with something, and what product?
