Sick puffer - Can’t seem to figure out what’s up

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
On the molly, it looks as though the gill plates have been slowly eroding.
Would that be a sign of a bacterial infection? Is it related or a completely separate issue?

As of current, every other fish looks and acts completely normal.

Hasn’t gotten better or worse. Metro doesn’t seem to be making a huge difference.

The gills have started looking much better.
I’ve started treating with kanaplex as well to try and help.
Still no white stringy poo.

After a bit the red came back. Honestly I’m not sure if it’s related or something else.
Metro and kanaplex haven’t made a huge dent.
White stringy poo just reared it’s head (without any mysis meal before hand), so I guess I have better reason so suspect parasites. The first round of levamisole just went in.

Going to do the second levamisole dose today, if that doesn’t do it (and there hasn’t been a change - better or worse - with the molly) I’ll try prazi.
If that doesn’t work I may just try acclimating the molly to saltwater…
